LocationRavensdown Guest House is located at Goldenacre on Ferry Road on the north side of the city, within walking distance of the Royal Botanic Garden, Warriston, Canonmills, Broughton and Stockbridge. We are also close to the port of Leith with its seafood restaurants, pubs and the Royal Yacht Britannia. Getting AroundRavensdown is on the main bus route into Leith and the city and Princess Street is less than a 10 minutes bus ride away. The airport is approximately a 20 minutes taxi ride. We are located on the north side of Ferry Road between Granton Road and Craighall Road, just to the right of Inverleith Row. Ravensdown is situated on the main bus route and within 10 minutes you can be shopping at the designer shops on George Street or walking along Princes Street with its lovely gardens and views of the castle. A 5 minute walk will take you to the beautiful Royal Botanic Garden. Directions to Ravensdown Guest HouseGetting to Ravensdown from Edinburgh Airport:By car: Getting to Ravensdown from the A1 (arriving from the south):Arriving from the south & Newcastle on the A1, stay on the A1 until the outskirts of Edinburgh, do not take the cut-off for the A720 City Bypass West, stay on the A1 heading North. Three roundabouts, carry straight through all of these, following the signs for Leith. At the third roundabout, straight through, the road becomes the A199 direction Leith, along Seafield Road (East). Continue along this road heading for Leith, actually bypassing the city centre to the north. Past the Shell garage on your right on Seafield Road, continue straight on along Salamander Street, Baltic Street, Bernard Street, through the old part of Leith, crossing the Water of Leith. This brings you onto Commercial Street at the end of which to your right is the Royal Yacht Britannia. Turn left at this set of lights into North Junction Street, then right at the next set of lights into Ferry Road, signposted Forth Road Bridge A90 & Royal Botanic Garden. About 1 mile on your right is 248 Ferry Road across from the playing fields. Getting to Ravensdown from the M8 (arriving from the west):At the end of the M8 heading for Edinburgh, follow the signs for the A720 City Bypass North. At the next roundabout, Gogar Roundabout, take the 2nd exit and at the next set of lights (Marriot Hotel and Comet on your right) turn left heading towards Leith. Continue straight at the next roundabout then straight on for a about one mile to the Barnton Junction (a large T junction), where you need to turn right still heading for Leith and now on the A90 along Queensferry Road. There are 3 sets of lights after the Barnton Junction, and at all of them you go straight on heading for City Centre and Leith. At the next lights, there is a Y junction at the Farmer's Garage, take the left fork heading towards Leith. This takes you along Telford Road and about 1 mile further on you come to the Crew Toll roundabout. Again, take the sign for Leith which is the 3rd exit, and this is Ferry Road. Ravensdown is located at number 248 Ferry Road on the left hand side just after the turn off to your right for the Botanic Garden. Just give us a call if you have difficulties finding us.
